Reports To: Kitchen / Chef Manager

We are currently seeking a full-time Line Cook to assist in daily operations in our onsite wood fired food trailer.

JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a professional and organized Line Cook to prepare food to the Chef’s specifications and set up stations for our seasonally changing menu. The Line Cook will work with other team members in the kitchen to execute dishes and assist the Kitchen Manager/Chef  with their daily tasks. Successful candidates will be organized, self-motivated, and have problem-solving abilities.The successful candidate for this role will also be focused on food preparation and execution, customer service and ticket time management.

ERRDAY JOB TASKS

Kitchen/Technical Responsible for maintaining daily cleaning and sanitation responsibilities

Monitor the quality of raw or cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.

  • Monitoring of temperature controls/thresholds for hot and cold food product storage and preparation
  • Execute preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food
  • Adhere to sanitation, health and safety regulations
  • Ability to operate kitchen appliances and cooking apparatus
  • Keep food preparation areas clean and organized
  • Assist with the unloading of deliveries and their proper storage
  • Communicate kitchen needs to Manager
  • Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following preventative maintenance programs
  • Ability to interact with customers
  • Focus on ticket time and customer satisfaction
  • Submit orders and payments into the POS system and collect payment 
  • Ability to properly close out the cash drawer at the end of the night 
  • Keeping up with the fire in the wood fired oven to maintain proper temperature throughout the entire shift 
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrate cooking skills along with an understanding of recipe following, food preparation and execution
  • Exude impeccable customer service
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation standards
  • Ability to multitask and work quickly under pressure
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Time management and task prioritization skills
  • Compassion and appreciation for others and a strong desire to operate as part of a team
  • Ability to pass ServeSafe food handler test

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work in a hot and cold environment
  • Working in a small or confined space
  • Standing for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift heavy boxes may be up to 50 lbs
  • Lifting, bending, stooping, twisting
  • Chop and carry wood to the trailer for the wood fired oven 
  • Can work next to a hot wood fired oven for prolonged periods of time
