Position Description – Taproom Manager

Job Title: Taproom Manager

Location: Charlotte, NC

FLSA Classification/Status: Full-Time, Exempt

Reports To: Todd Boera, Mary Katherine Mull

Job Purpose

The Taproom Manager will be responsible for making the taproom experience nothing short of

exceptional. The Taproom Manager ensures smooth operation of the taproom by making sure

that the taproom is appropriately staffed, that beer tenders have everything needed to

successfully and efficiently complete their tasks, that the taproom environment is comfortable,

that the beers are at their absolute best, and that unforeseen needs are addressed quickly. The

Taproom Manager is also responsible for ensuring that customers have a positive experience

during their visit and that beer tenders are trained to deliver our brand vibe at all times.

The successful candidate for this role will have previous experience as a Food and Beverage

leader, preferably with bar-specific experience. The candidate will exude hospitality and will

pass this along to all members of the team through training and osmosis. Finally, the ideal

candidate will possess a Sales presence in order to cultivate relationships within the Charlotte

beer patron scene, including the hosting of private events and out-of-the-box ideas to grow

sales revenue.

 

ERRDAY Job Tasks

 

– Management of taproom employees, including: hiring, training, scheduling,

communication, performance feedback, and accountability for standards not met.

– Ensuring proper opening and closing of the taprooms (setting up and closing down cash

drawers, ensuring that the taproom is clean and ready for patrons, restocking/ordering

any necessary supplies, addressing any unforeseen needs)

– Ensuring that the beers on tap are acceptable to serve (right temperature, optimal

quality, no off-smells or flavors)

– Tirelessly making sure that taproom patrons’ needs are met quickly and efficiently

– Creating and maintaining a pleasant taproom environment (temperature, music,

cleanliness, conduct)

– Responsible for overall tasting room appearance, upkeep, cleanliness, maintenance

(scheduling of cleaning crews, repairs, etc.)

– Partnering with Events Manager to execute special events in the taproom

– Working with the Marketing department to properly market the taproom

– Creating and maintaining relationships with Optimist Hall food vendors.

– Maintain relationships with local patrons and organizations

– Responsible for the ordering, inventory, and scheduling delivery/receiving of guest food

and beverages for resale

– Maintaining accurate taproom inventory (glassware, merch, etc.)

– Stepping in as beer tender and/or beer educator as needed

– Working towards continuous optimization of taproom operations

– Available to work full-time, including nights and weekends. Required work week is Friday

through Tuesday.

– Floating on the floor during 3 shifts a week and evaluating guest experience.

– Serving as team leader to staff of beer tenders

– Playing the role of brand ambassador

– Understand and compliance with all federal, state, and local laws

– Proudly represent the Fonta Flora brand both on and off site

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Position Description – Delivery Driver

Job Title: Delivery Driver
Location: Nebo, NC – North Carolina Territory
FLSA Classification/Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Reports To: Logistics Manager

Job Purpose
The Fonta Flora Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering all beverages
to their proper locations. The position reports to the Logistics Manager, with whom he/she/they
will work to ensure all orders are packed and loaded correctly. The Delivery Driver will also be
involved with account maintenance related tasks.

Fonta Flora Brewery is a small but thriving craft brewery where no job is too large or too small
for anyone. All employees are expected to pitch in where needed and to be flexible with
changing day-to-day job duties. Candidates must share Fonta Flora’s commitments to quality,
safety, business ethics, continuous innovation, local agriculture and our own unique culture.
The successful candidate for this role will be comfortable with repetitive tasks, physical labor,
and standing/moving for extended periods of time. The candidate must have a valid Driver’s
License and be comfortable driving for extended periods of time while utilizing GPS mapping
technology. The ideal candidate will possess a sense of urgency and punctuality, while also
being approachable and friendly with clients or customers of Fonta Flora. Candidates should be
able to physically lift up to 50-75 lbs.

ERRDAY Job Tasks
– Loading, unloading, and delivery of our craft beer to retail accounts
– Loading and unloading of company vehicles including operating a company forklift to load and
unload packages
– Preparing and delivering packaged products to our additional tasting room locations in
applicable territories 
-Transport of kegs, dirty and clean, back and forth from our farm location to our Morganton
location
– In tandem with the Sales and Distribution Manager and Lead Driver, compile and maintain a
detailed account spreadsheet
– Prepare and deliver products to a self-distributed network of accounts
– Ensure thorough coverage of POS material at accounts
– Invoice customers when necessary
– Collect payment when necessary
– Obtaining customer signature for goods delivered
– Verify outgoing orders with Sales and Distribution Manager and Lead Driver
– Supporting the occasional delivery of a product as needed to accounts with last-minute
requests
– Picking up equipment and [raw] materials from local vendors/farmers 
– Providing efficient and safe delivery and pick-up, while representing the company in a
professional manner
– Keeping a maintenance log on our delivery vehicle and assuming ownership of the upkeep
and cleanliness of this vehicle
– Working with account managers to ensure glassware and beer lines are cleaned
– Clean draft lines at accounts as needed
– Keeping customers informed by answering questions regarding products and service 
– Ensuring packages conform to Fonta Floras’ features of service, that proper labeling is
provided, and that all paperwork is complete, neat, and accurate
– Cleaning, washing and performing minor maintenance to company vehicles as necessary,
maintaining neat and clean personal appearance to uphold company's public image
– Notifying supervisor of any safety concerns
– Be a team player with ability to interact with all levels within the organization 
– Preparation of an endless array of ingredients bound for beer
– Assist with promotional events
